The Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort is set right next to a wide ribbon of palm-fringed sand and warm, shallow waters. The hotel is a contemporary structure wrapped in landscaped gardens. There are two curvy pools between the hotel and the beach, one of which is for adults only. There’s also a wide sun terrace and a poolside café-come-bar.

The food is mainly provided via big buffets with a mix of hot and cold dishes on offer at breakfast, which can be washed down with freshly-squeezed fruit juice and rich coffee. In the evenings there are Caribbean nights, barbecue grills and sushi stations. There’s a stylish Italian à la carte and a beachfront seafood restaurant, too.

The bedrooms are airy and light, with white walls, cool ceramic floors and chunky dark-wood furniture, air-conditioning, as are mini-fridges, satellite TVs and in-room internet access are includeds as are a private balcony or terrace.
