The hotel is set right next to a long sandy beach, which is edged by turquoise waters, with tall palms and tropical gardens.

It has a classic Caribbean feel, with low-set buildings,  painted in earthy reds, sky blues and yellows, and topped with a mix of terracotta tiles and rush roofs. The reception is a vast open space with a huge beamed ceiling and an elaborate wrought-iron light feature.

There are two choicfes of bedrooms – standard or suite. The first follow a more laid-back, homely style, while the suites have an understated, luxurious feel to them. They’ve recently been renovated so everything is ultra contemporary. Beds are huge and come topped with dark-wood headboards, and the latte colour scheme adds a chic touch.

Elsewhere, this place has a great swimming pool. It’s enormous, so there’s plenty of space for everyone. A nice touch is its swim-up bar, a little thatched-roof hut that juts out into the water. and eight restaurants when your feeling peckish.
