The secluded ClubHotel Riu Bachata sits on Maimon Bay, just footsteps from the shore, with a great sandy beach.At the watersports hut, just a 5 minute stroll from the hotel, sand-side entertainment comes in the shape of watersports like windsurfing and kayaking, and the PADI and NAUI qualified dive centre, which caters for both beginner and experienced scuba divers.
The hotel has fresh white walls and lots of space. The lobby has garden-frescoed ceilings and palm leaf chandeliers. Dotted among the hotel’s landscaped gardens are two pools, bordered by smart terraces with coconut-thatch parasols and cushioned sun loungers. There’s a fully-equipped fitness room on the complex as well as an entertainment team that lays on everything from volleyball and Spanish lessons to shows and live music.
The bedrooms are decorated in neutral colour schemes, and come with satellite TVs and air-conditioning. It’s also just a 10-minute drive from Puerto Plata – putting a range of bars and restaurants within easy reach.
