With two huge pools and a private beach with a back-drop of lush hills and looking out over a sweep of golden sands, the Mambo is s great place for a tropical holiday.
There are two massive lagoon pools, plus children have their own shallow spot. A short walk through the gardens will get you to a private stretch of beach shared with its sister hotels the Merengue and Bachata. There’s the full A to Z of watersports here, so you can have a go at scuba diving with a lesson in the pool or try your hand at sailing.
Rooms are simply styled, with white walls and tiled floors, with carved wooden furniture. Each one comes with air-conditioning, a minibar and satellite TV as standard. And if you upgrade to a suite you’ll get a separate living area with an extra TV.
The main buffet restaurant, Los Almendros, offers up beach views with international dishes. Or try the à la carte options – there’s an Italian for pizza and pasta lovers, plus a steakhouse. The ‘Caribbean Street’ , shared between the three hotels, is a row of Caribbean-style wooden clapboard shops sells jewellery, trinkets and other souvenirs.
